Julianne "Judy" Welch, 79, of Carrollton, TX passed away on November 27, 2023. Judy was born in Dallas, TX on April 12, 1944 to William B and Opal Welch. She graduated from Carrollton High School in 1962 and received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of North Texas. Judy was a Math Teacher in the Richardson ISD for 37 years, including Richardson West Jr. HS and J. J. Pearce HS. She retired from RISD in 2003. Shortly after her retirement, she began volunteering in the Library at R.L.Turner HS in Carrollton. Her skills as a Math Teacher were needed and she was called upon to help with tutoring students that needed extra help in preparing for the STAR test. Although she preferred to volunteer her time, CFBISD insisted on hiring her as a part-time Math Test Tutor, which she continued to do through 2019. The money she earned tutoring, she donated to the Metrocrest Food Pantry.

Those who knew Judy know that she had a gift of giving. She was a beloved Aunt to 4 nieces and nephews and 13 great-nieces/nephews and 1 great-great nephew. She loved entertaining them and showering them with books, toys, school clothes, and trips to Toys-R-Us. Rarely was there a family gathering that she didn't insist on picking up the tab for the meal. That was her way of "cooking". Her generosity extended beyond her family, as she often gave anonymously to students who needed money for a school trip, to college students who needed money for textbooks, and to boy scouts who needed new uniforms. Giving brought her joy.

Judy was a born-again Christian, accepting Christ as a young girl. She leaned on her faith in difficult times and would often recite the 23rd Psalm to her family, in expression of her faith and hope.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents, WB and Opal Welch.

Judy is survived by her brothers, Charles (Glynda) Welch of Plano and Rick (Teala) Welch of Spicewood. Nephews and nieces Scott (Marsha) Welch, Joy (Tom) Hunsinger, Dr. Jason (Dr. Sixian) Welch, Lindsey (Jim) Cerkovnik and her 14 great and great-great nieces/nephews.
